Lucknow: Adani Airport Holdings Limited and IHG Hotels & Resorts have signed a landmark agreement to develop a five-hotel portfolio across major airport-linked and high-growth urban destinations in India, marking a significant expansion in the country’s hospitality and aviation infrastructure sectors.
The partnership will add nearly 1,500 rooms across multiple hospitality brands and locations, including Jaipur, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The development is aligned with the growing demand for travel, tourism and airport-led urban infrastructure in India.
One of the biggest highlights of the collaboration is the India debut of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, IHG’s globally recognised luxury lifestyle boutique brand. The upcoming Kimpton property in Jaipur will introduce Indian travellers to the brand’s signature blend of design-led hospitality, chef-driven dining experiences and boutique luxury offerings.
The agreement also includes the development of Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties within upcoming mixed-use airport city developments planned by Adani Airport Holdings in Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram. The companies are also exploring opportunities to further expand their collaboration in the future.
Speaking about the development, Pranav Adani said the Adani Group aims to create world-class airport-linked destinations that seamlessly integrate travel, hospitality and urban experiences. He noted that the collaboration with IHG reflects the group’s larger vision of strengthening India’s hospitality ecosystem alongside the country’s rapidly expanding aviation sector.

Adani Airport Holdings currently operates eight airports across India, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and the upcoming Navi Mumbai airport. The company is also developing large-scale airport city projects spread across nearly 663 acres, combining hospitality, retail, entertainment and commercial infrastructure.
Sudeep Jain said the partnership reflects the immense growth potential of India’s hospitality sector, particularly in gateway cities and airport-led developments witnessing strong demand from business and leisure travellers. He added that introducing Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants to India marks an important milestone for the company.
IHG Hotels & Resorts currently operates 52 hotels across six brands in India and has a pipeline of 98 additional properties expected to open over the next three to five years. Globally, the hospitality group manages more than 7,000 hotels across over 100 countries with a portfolio spanning luxury, premium and essential hospitality brands.
